Raising Fearless, Sparkly, Math-magical Kids!

Pocket Maths Teacher is here to help you and your children to feel confident and comfortable with maths and numbers.

Maths is a skill, just like riding a bike, playing a musical instrument or learning a language. It just takes practise.

Maths and numbers are part of everyday life, whether that be buying food at the supermarket, working out your pay or how much money you will get off that pair of trousers you've been eyeing up in the sale.

Whether we like to admit it or not, numbers are a massive part of our lives and are completely unavoidable.

I know that maths is a very polarising subject, some people LOVE it and for others it just makes them feel really uncomfortable.

And whether we loved it or hated it at school, we are now faced with it again as our kids start to learn about it too.

Do you spend the same amount of time on numeracy as you do on reading and writing with your kids?

How much support and guidance have you had from school about how your kids learn basic maths?

I understand how powerless you can feel when you are trying your best to help your child and no matter what you say, you are not connecting and they are still stuck, confused and getting cross.

You can't get them to understand you.  You don't understand why on earth they are doing it like that!

And you don't understand why they are finding it soooo tricky!!

It is exhausting!

But it doesn't need to feel like this...

How I can help...

Know how to engage your child

Know how to talk to your child about numbers, when is the best time to do this and when to absolute avoid it!

Understand why it can go completely belly up sometimes.

I will help you to see how you can make these interactions really positive, totally stress free!

Get all this info in my FREE 3 part 'Secret Sauce' Sessions and get things started!

Know what to talk about

There is so much more to mathematical thinking than just numbers and so much of this is overlooked.

In this 5 part mini-series I will show you how easy it is to get chatting maths with your kids and how to support and challenge them.

I'll also introduce you to the types of things we should be getting our children to think about to help them become mega confident problem solvers!

Hi, I'm Laura

I support parents with how to communicate with their children about numeracy and maths

I do this because I want to rid the world of ‘maths anxiety’, nobody should be scared, anxious or feel fearful of maths and numbers.

I want to help you to see that it is a life skill, not an abstract, stand-alone, weird thing that we just do at school.

Maths is basically all about confidence. If someone feels like they can do something and have success, they are more likely to be able to do it and keep trying. This goes for maths too!
